Royal Poinciana is is quite a large tree and needs a large root structure to stop it blowing over so needs some room. We have trialed Poinciana trees in Berry on the far South Coast of NSW (2 hours south of Sydney) with great success. Poinciana in the south become almost deciduous in winter but have explosive and beautiful fern-like foliage growth in summer, growing up to 3m in one year!
Delonix Regia are avail to order at Bamboo South Coast in all sizes from small 300mm pots to large 4 m tall specimen trees, best to plant trees towards the end of September until March.

Rich well drained soil, will tolerate sandy soils, wont like muddy wet feet in winter but will love regular water and organic fertilizer in summer. Tough tree, good for erosion control.
