Description
Blue chalksticks is an excellent and colourful addition to any garden at all. It is a very “Botanical” looking plant with its carpeting electric blue foliage.
Senecios are generally very drought tolerant, as long as they have good drainage underneath, they will love some good South Coast NSW rain or a hose on a summer afternoon, making them a perfect garden addition for Sydney-area gardens.
Landscaping uses for Senecio “chalksticks” are around the base of feature trees, as a border plant, or creeping its way down along a rockery meandering at the feet of taller plants. It is a great “Gap filler” which is critical in a beautiful complete garden design.
Will tolerate a light frost and bounce back, however heavy or black frost will destroy chalksticks.
Always avail in smaller pots- plant 15-20cm apart it looks great- however 1 x pot of chalksticks will eventually (over many years!) provide a garden of cuttings.
