Description
Nepalese Blue bamboo is one of the prettiest bamboos you can use for landscaping in Sydney and the east coast NSW.
It grows naturally in the highlands in mountainous Nepal, where the sunlight is bright (but not burning hot) and the air is cool and thin. Therefore- this bamboo loves a spot and looks absolutely superb where it is a bit shadier from the harsh summer midday sun. It will however survive in a full sun open position.
Nepalese Blue only grows to a max of 3m tall, has a slight weeping habit (can be trimmed or tied up) and has lush feathery leaves and bright dusty blue culms which are a great feature.
Nepalese blue should be planted 600-800mm apart for best screening- it is small and non vigorous bamboo that has a very gentle root system that requires only a small amount of space.
Water well or irrigate this bamboo for best results, loves Natural feed during the warmer months- organic feeds such as Nitrosol , Seasol Powerfeed , Charlie Carp, Blood and Bone/ Dynamic lifter can be applied regularly in growing season for lush lime green leaves
