Khasia Bamboo
Drepanostachyum Khasianum
Khasia Bamboo (Drepanostachyum Khasianum) is one of my favorites due to its landscaping qualities. Being short (3-4m tall) and much tougher than the other Himalayan bamboos this will handle midday sun and wind exposure in temperate regions. I have trailed and proven this one. It’s nice and strait and lush green all year around, even through winter. But its true quality is its canes boasting thin, green canes covered in white powder with pronounced purple shading and white rings around each node. Very colourful and very rare!
